Purchase, NY (Mar. 20, 2013) – The Purchase College men's tennis team battled through brisk temperatures to beat visiting Lehman College 6-3 Wednesday afternoon.
 
Purchase, now 4-1 overall, took two of the three doubles points to begin the match. The Panthers then won four of the six singles matches for the final margin of victory.
 
Doubles wins came at the first and second spots in the lineup. Jeremyah Schur (SO/Forest Hills, NY) and Brenden Keeling (SR/Ontario, Canada) won 8-2 at first doubles while teammates Dylan DeBiase (JR/High Falls, NY) and Chris Matchneer (SR/Larchmont, NY) won 8-6 at second doubles.

Alex Linde and Andres Restrepo shut out Simon Lai (SR/Garrison, NY) and Cody Zweier (SO/West Hempstead, NY) 8-0 giving Lehman its only win in doubles. Both Linde and Restrepo won again at singles in the fifth and sixth spots.
 
Schur, Keeling, DeBiase and Matchneer recorded straight set wins at first, second, third and fourth singles, respectively. Both Schur and DeBiase remain undefeated with 5-0 overall records. Keeling and Matchneer are close behind with overall records of 4-1.
 
Up next, Purchase will face-off against NYU-POLY on Mar. 23 in the team's first conference match of the season. The match will be played at the USTA National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows.
