Jamaica, NY (Apr. 2, 2013) – John Jay defeated Purchase 8-1 Tuesday afternoon at the York College Tennis Complex.

John Jay improved to 3-2, dropping Purchase to 6-2. The Panthers were without top-of-the-lineup stars Jeremyah Schur (SO/Forest Hills, NY) and Brenden Keeling (SR/Ontario, Canada). The two, out with injuries, were clearly missed on a very cold afternoon for tennis.  

The lone victory for the Panthers came at second singles – a huge victory for Pocholo Chavez (JR/Stony Point, NY), who earned a 4-6, 7-6 (8-0), 10-8 final in a thriller.
