(Feb. 3, 2014) – The Purchase College men's volleyball team earned its first win of the season with an easy 25-12, 25-12, 25-12 straight set victory over Brooklyn College Tuesday evening.
The Panthers were led by
Kevin Carges (SO/Brockport, NY), who recorded a match-high 15 kills on 19 totals attempts. He committed just two hitting errors in the match for a hitting rate of 68 percent.
Andrew Schwab (SO/Merrick, NY) added five kills while
Kevin Egbert (JR/Saratoga Springs, NY) paced the offence with a 14 assists and five digs.
Matthew McCarthy (JR/Fayetteville, NY) chipped in with a match-high six digs.
As a team, the Panthers garnered 25 kills on 55 attempts and racked up 20 aces, led by five from
Griffin Rapp (FR/Rochester, NY).
Purchase is currently 1-4 overall and will travel to The City College of New York for a non-conference match this Thursday, Feb. 5. Game time is slated for 7 p.m.
