(March 10, 2015) – The Purchase men's volleyball team dropped its last non-conference home match of the season, losing to Bard College, 3-0 (25-17, 25-23, 25-14), Tuesday evening.
The Panthers (4-11, 0-5 Skyline) struggled offensively, allowing 19 attacking errors, nine of which were in the third set.
Kevin Carges (SO/Brockport, NY) and
Chase Lokke (JR/Granite Bay, CA) each notched eight kills and four digs in the losing effort. Outside hitter
Riley Damerell (SO/Rochester, NY) added another five kills and five digs while middle hitter
Andrew Schwab (SO/Merrick, NY) totaled five kills, four digs and a service ace.
Bard (8-15, 0-5 Liberty) used a match-high 29 assists from Joseph Stier and the Raptors hit a .321 clip to take home the victory. Jesse Small led Bard with a match-high 11 kills off 25 total attempts. Kai Bernier-Chen chipped in with four kills and an impressive nine digs and three blocks while Stefan Briggs totaled eight kills off 11 attempts without a single error.
Up next, the Panthers head to Brooklyn, NY for a 7 p.m. non-conference match against St. Joseph's College-Brooklyn on March 12.
