Purchase, NY (March 22, 2015) – Sunday's tri-match featured three sweeps.

Despite a valiant effort, host Purchase narrowly dropped the opener (3-0) to Sage 25-23, 25-22 and 25-15 before losing the final match of the afternoon to Ramapo in straight sets (25-15, 25-9, 25-18). In between, Ramapo defeated Sage 3-0 (25-18, 25-19, 25-23).

Against Sage, Purchase was led by Kevin Carges (SO/Brockport, NY), Riley Damerell (SO/Rochester, NY), Andrew Schwab (SO/Merrick, NY) and libero Matthew McCarthy (JR/Fayetteville, NY). Carges totaled 11 kills, two service aces, six digs and one block solo, while Schwab followed offensively with eight kills. Damerell contributed seven kills, four assists and seven digs.

In the win, the Gators were led by Bailey Cecchi and his 11 kills and 10 digs. Setter Tyler Bastos handed out 26 assists.

In the final match for the Panthers, Purchase was led by Carges, Schwab and McCarthy. Carges netted a team-high 11 kills and six digs; Schwab added six kills and one block solo; and McCarthy once again played well in his role as libero. Setter Kevin Egbert (JR/Saratoga Springs, NY) finished with 23 and 18 assists over the two matches, respectively.  

Ramapo featured a balanced attack led by six kills from Marinus Tavernier and 42 assists from Alex Weissman.

The Roadrunners improved to 15-12, including 10-1 in the Skyline. The Panthers are now 5-14 overall and 0-7 in the league. Following Sunday's results, Sage is 7-12 overall and 5-5 in the Skyline.

Purchase has a quick turnaround at home and returns to action against Sarah Lawrence tomorrow night before hosting Yeshiva on Tuesday.
