Purchase, NY (March 23, 2015) – In their first conference win of the season the Purchase men's volleyball team shutout Sarah Lawrence College, 3-0 (25-8, 25-16, 25-13), Tuesday evening at the Panther home court.

Purchase (6-14, 1-7 SKY) jumped ahead early in the first set.  Outside hitter Riley Damerell (SO/Rochester, NY) sent 12 straight serves before Sarah Lawrence tallied their first point of the stanza.
 
In the second set, the Panthers totaled an impressive 16 kills on 30 total attempts, nine of which came from Kevin Carges (SO/Brockport, NY).   Purchase kept the same pace in the final set as they cruised to a 25-13 victory.

Carges paced the Panther offense with 19 kills, five digs, two assists, two blocks and a service ace.  Damerell totaled six kills, eight digs and three service aces, while libero Matthew McCarthy (JR/Fayetteville, NY) chipped in with two assists and 10 digs.  Setter Kevin Egbert was an ace playmaker as he tallied 27 assists.

For the visitors, Amit Sankaran led with three kills on 11 total attempts while totaling seven digs in the effort.

Purchase is back at home again tomorrow for a Skyline Conference match against Yeshiva University starting at 8 p.m.
