Bronxville, NY (April 11, 2015) – The Purchase College women's softball team carved up a twin bill sweep Saturday at Sarah Lawrence.

The Panthers fell behind in Game 1 by three runs, but battled back and earned a 10-3 win before closing the door in a shortened 12-0 victory in Game 2. Purchase looked sharp at Mary LeVine field, improving to 6-8 overall and 2-6 in the Skyline Conference.

Sarah Lawrence (0-16, 0-6 Skyline) was first on the scoreboard in game one. In the bottom of the first, SLC rookie Em Hammett put the ball in play and reached first base on an infield single. Tori Himes followed with a hit down the right line, and rookie Riley Vuyovich followed with a shot to the same place, loading the bases. Kamaron McNair plated Hammett with a fourth hit in a row. Himes then came home on a wild pitch. Later in the inning, rookie Eleni Spentzouris knocked an RBI-single into right center field, bringing Vuyovich to the plate for a 3-0 Gryphon lead.

Purchase plated one run in the second inning and another in the third, trimming the gap to 3-2.
