Purchase, NY (April 14, 2015) – Manhattanville topped Purchase in women's softball Tuesday.

The Valiants picked up a 15-3 and 15-1 win, respectively.

Shauna Mulkerin had a pair of home runs to lead the hosts. She went 4 for 6 with six RBI over the two games. In Game 1, she went 3 for 3.

The Valiants spotted Purchase two unearned runs in the first inning, but came back with five in the second.
 
Playing with a five-run lead, the home team then sent 12 players to the plate in the fourth to eclipse the eight-run margin.  
 
In Game 2, the Valiants used two homers to go ahead early and then an 11-run third inning to seal the game.
 
After again giving Purchase an early advantage, Valiants got hot in the middle innings to complete the sweep.

Rookie standout Shannon Clancy (FR/Babylon, NY) had two hits in Game 2 to pace Purchase. ToniAnn Licata (SR/Mount Kisco, NY) collected two hits and an RBI in the opener for the Panthers.

Purchase returns to action Friday against Old Westbury.
