Purchase, NY (April 12, 2017) – The Purchase College men's tennis team collected their third-straight win with a 9-0 shutout victory over Skyline Conference host St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) Wednesday evening.

The Panthers move to 5-1 overall and 3-1 in the Skyline.  In defeat, the Bears drop to 1-3 and remain winless, 0-2, in the league.

Purchase opened action Wednesday with a 3-0 sweep in doubles play.  Seniors Riley Damerell (Rochester, NY) and Joseph Troop (Yonkers, NY) cruised to an 8-0 shutout win at first doubles, while freshman James Ham (Rye, NY) and sophomore Finbar Stuart (Woodstock, NY) notched an 8-1 triumph at the No. 2 spot.  Sophomore Brian Doherty (Mattituck, NY) and freshman Austin Schmitt (Rochester, NY) capped the doubles highlights with an 8-0 sweep at the No. 3 spot.

The Panthers kept the momentum going in singles action and tallied another six points to secure the 9-0 shutout. 

Purchase breaks for the weekend and resumes action on April 17 against Hunter College.  The non-conference home match is set to start at 6 p.m.
