Bronxville, NY (April 24, 2017) – The Purchase College men's tennis team picked up where they left off in Saturday's rained out match against Sarah Lawrence, and cruised to a 9-0 final score victory against the host Gryphons Monday evening.

With the win, Purchase advances to 6-1 in the league and secures a spot in the Skyline postseason. Sarah Lawrence falls to 4-5 overall and 2-5 in the conference.

On Saturday, Purchase notched two wins at first and second singles before the untimely weather struck.  In the No. 1 position, seniors Riley Damerell (Rochester, NY) and Joseph Troop (Yonkers, NY) swept Ian Gonzalez and Garrett Hsuan, 8-0, while freshmen Isaac Jones (Ossining, NY) and Austin Schmitt (Rochester, NY) defeated Andre Garibaldi and Alex Wah, 8-1, at the No. 2 spot.
The No. 3 pairing of Finbar Stuart (SO/Woodstock, NY) and James Ham (FR/Rye, NY) had a 5-1 lead over their opponents when the match was called Saturday, and kept the momentum rolling on Monday, finishing with an 8-1 win.

Purchase clinched team victory after winning the No. 5 and No. 1 singles matches.

Up next, the Panthers host the Sage Colleges in a Skyline Conference match on Apr. 29.
