Purchase, NY (April 5, 2017) – Purchase men's tennis is now 4-1 on the spring after edging USMMA 5-4 at home Wednesday night.
Purchase picked up three singles wins, despite losing at the top two positions, and added two doubles victories to pull out the close match. Isaac Jones (FR/Ossining, NY), James Ham (FR/Rye, NY) and Finbar Stuart (SO/Woodstock, NY) collected the singles wins at No. 3, No. 5 and No. 6, respectively.
Ham and Stuart (pictured above) had big days for the Panthers. Their third doubles win, along with their terrific outings in singles, proved to be the difference.
Although No. 1 Riley Damerell (SR/Rochester, NY) and No. 2. Joseph Troop (SR/Yonkers, NY) fell in singles, the two collected a win at first doubles that ensured the outcome.
