Purchase, NY
(April 11, 2018) – Purchase was in the match early, but first-place Yeshiva utilized a dominant performance in singles to capture an 8-1 victory Wednesday night.
The Panthers trailed 2-1 after doubles play. However, the hosts couldn't get anything going in singles, losing all matches played.
The highlight of the night came at No. 1 doubles for the Panthers, where
Hope Crawford (FR/Mamaroneck, NY) and
James Ham (SO/Rye, NY) put on a dazzling show. The duo upended Adam Rosemblaum and Lior Brik 8-5 in a marathon match – the last of the three doubles to finish.
YU (8-5 overall, 4-0 Skyline Conference) posted an 8-1 win at No. 2 and an 8-0 win at No. 3 doubles.
In singles, Rosemblaum outlasted Crawford 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1, while Mikey Ozery slipped past Ham, 6-1, 6-3.
Purchase (2-5, 2-3) will look to rebound Friday in a non-conference reschedule at home with Hunter.
