DANBURY, CT - The Purchase College men's tennis team continued its stellar 2019 season with another win Thursday afternoon, as the Panthers topped the Colonials of Western Connecticut State, 6-3, in a non-conference match.
On the year, Purchase is now 9-2 overall, while Western Connecticut fell to 3-10.Â
The Panthers won all three doubles matches on the day, which marked the third-straight game Purchase had won every doubles matchup.
Matthew Waterhouse (FR/Massapequa Park, NY) and
Brian Doherty (SR/Mattituck, NY) took their No. 3 doubles match, 8-2, while the duo of
James Ham (JR/Rye, NY) and
Finbar Stuart (SR/Woodstock, NY) won 8-4 in the No. 2 spot.Â
Courage Crawford (FR/Larchmont, NY) and
Isaac Jones (JR/Ossining, NY)Â continued to dominate in No. 1 doubles, as the pair won their match, 8-0,Â
In singles competition, Stuart won in the No. 5 slot, 6-0 and 6-0. At No. 4, Ham topped his opponent 6-1 and 6-1, while No. 2 Jones completed the wins for Purchase with a 6-2, 6-1 result.
Up next for the Panthers is the final regular season match of the year, as they travel to St. Joseph's College - Brooklyn tomorrow (April 27th) at noon.Â
