EDGEWATER, N.J. - The Purchase College men's tennis team tasted defeat for the first time in 2019, as the Panthers fell to Yeshiva University, 8-1, in a Skyline Conference match.

The loss dropped the Panthers to 5-1 overall and 2-1 in league play. The Maccabees of Yeshiva meanwhile, improved to 9-6 and 4-0.

No. 1 singles Courage Crawford (FR/ Larchmont, NY) provided the visitors with their lone win of the afternoon, as he topped his opponent, 7-6 (7-3) and 6-2. 

Crawford and teammate, James Ham (JR/Rye, NY) nearly won their No. 1 doubles match, before falling, 8-6, while No. 3 doubles, Matthew Waterhouse (FR/Massapequa Park, NY) and Austin Schmitt (JR/Hilton, NY), also lost by the same mark.
