WESTBURY, N.Y. - The Purchase College golf team participated in the Skyline Conference Championship event over the past two days, competing at Eisenhower Park on Long Island.
Results
The Panthers competed on the same course just a few days ago during their pre-championship tune up, so they were well-versed in the layout.Â
Over Sunday and Monday, the Blue and Orange moved up to finish in seventh place, as they totaled a final score of 701.
Placing first was Farmingdale State College with a total score of 598, while St. Joseph's University-Long Island came in second with 641.
Individually,Â
Christian Miesegaes (JR/Staten Island, NY) was the top finisher for the Blue and Orange, as he shot a 164 (86, 78) over the two days.
His score tied for 12th overall out of 43 golfers, as he missed All-Conference recognition by just one stroke.
Steve Mains (5th/Mount Kisco, NY) recorded the second-best finish on Purchase, as scored an 87 and 82 for a 169.Â
Rounding out the contest for the Panthers was
Arthur Nelbach IV (SO/Cornwall, NY) with a 181 andÂ
Ryan Haberski (FY/Saugerties, NY) with a 191.
Up next for the squad is the final meet of the year, the Yeshiva University Invite on October 24th at 10 a.m.
