Purchase, NY (Nov. 16, 2012) – Some facility issues forced Lehman College to search elsewhere Friday night when it came time for Purchase to swim the Lightning.

Purchase instead would host Lehman's swim, but the Lightning remained the home team in the contest.

In the end, the two would split the evening's tilt, with Lehman winning the men's side, 116-82, and the Purchase women earning a 124-46 final.

On the women's side, Purchase teamed for an early lead, capturing the 200-yard medley relay.

Likewise, the Lehman men bested the field in the same event.

Anna Krol (SO/Oceanside, NY) won the 1,000-yard freestyle and Samir Mekrami (JR/Brooklyn, NY) also championed the event for Purchase. The Panthers started strong on both ends.

Shortly later, in the 200-yard freestyle, Haley Ryan (FR/East Hampton, NY) (2:22.61) provided the Panthers nine points, but Lehman would take first and second in the men's event for 13 of its own.

The Lehman men would win the next three events, distancing themselves down the stretch.

Meanwhile, Purchase's Megan DeCino (SO/Homer, Alaska) won the 50 free, teammate Kamara Lewis (JR/Jamaica, NY) topped the field in the 200 IM, and DeCino would return later for a victory in the 100 butterfly.

Francesca Litz (JR/Liverpool, NY) was also impressive for the Panthers. She dazzled in the 100 freestyle, the same event Mekrami would also win for the men's side.

In event 17, Ryan won the 100 backstroke as the Panther women closed out strong down the stretch.

Despite the deficit for the Purchase men, William Anderson (FR/Bloomingburg, NY) earned a nice win in the 100 backstroke to go along with a strong second-place finish in the 500 free.

With the Thanksgiving holiday, the Panthers will now get nearly two weeks off before returning in a rescheduled home matchup against William Paterson on Dec. 1.
