BRONXVILLE, N.Y. - The Purchase College swim team kicked off their season at the Gryphons Sprint Carnival hosted by Sarah Lawrence College on Saturday afternoon. This meet marked the first competition under new head coach Caroline Shannon.

Results

For the women's team, Paris Judy (JR/Buffalo, NY) secured a solid finish in the 50-yard backstroke with a time of 39.25 and in the 100-yard backstroke at 1:23.75. Isabella Morabito (SR/Norwich, CT) made her mark with a time of 36.93 in the 50-yard freestyle and recorded 44.48 in the 50-yard breaststroke. Riley Langford (SO/Queensbury, NY) also competed in the breaststroke, finishing with a time of 41.68.

On the men's side, David Whitmer (SR/San Antonio, TX) clocked 25.88 in the 50-yard freestyle. Daniel Maloney (SR/Pelham, NY) contributed in the 50-yard backstroke with a time of 49.84 and also competed in the freestyle, finishing at 34.73. Senan Scott-Hamblen rounded out the men's efforts with times of 55.22 in the backstroke and 50.75 in the freestyle.

With their warm-up act under their belt, the Blue and Orange will host their first meet on November 1st at 6:00 p.m. against William Patterson University.
