Annandale-on-Hudson, NY (Sept. 7, 2012) – In the annual Bard Raptors Classic on Friday night, Purchase topped Bard, 6-2, and SUNY New Paltz defeated College of Staten Island, 2-1.

Kevin Riveros (FR/Port Chester, NY) scored twice and Andres Romero (JR/Port Chester, NY) added a goal and three assists as the Panthers beat Bard for the first time since 2007. The Panthers (1-1) jumped out early, scoring three goals in the first 14:07 of the match.
Bard (1-2-1) trimmed the lead to 3-1 on a penalty kick by senior Chet Darrow early in the second half, but Purchase scored the next two goals and ran away with a non-league win.

Stefan Gohler (SO/Brooklyn, NY) and Junior Sanguina (SO/White Plains, NY) scored single goals, and Abraham Pajares (JR/Port Chester, NY) added an assist for the winners.

Purchase will play SUNY New Paltz at Bard on Saturday at 3.
