Wayne, NJ (Nov. 2, 2013) – Both Purchase College swim teams were defeated by William Paterson on Saturday.

The Panther men fell 102-97, and the women lost 106-94.

The men's team had three individual winners – all rookies to the Panther squad.  

Matthew Brower (FR/Staten Island, NY) finished first in the 100-yard backstroke and 1000-yard freestyle with times of 57.72 and 10:59.43. Andrew Latona (FR/Silver Spring, MD) placed first in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:56.12 and Sam Jaffe (FR/Silver Spring, MD) rounded out the top Panther individual swimmers with a first-place time of 2:10.01 in the 200-yard IM. 

The Panther men also placed first in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:47.30.

Purchase returns to competition Nov. 8 in Newburgh, NY for a Skyline matchup against Mount Saint Mary College.
