(Mar. 26, 2013) – The Purchase College women's lacrosse team locked horns Tuesday evening with its third conference game of the season, this time matching up against SUNY Maritime.
Unfortunately, the Panthers came up short to the Privateers, 8-6.
Maritime improved to 1-3 in the Skyline, while the Panthers remain winless at 0-3.
After
Cat Viscardi (SO/Lake Ronkonkoma, NY) gave the Panthers a 1-0 lead in the third minute of the game, the Privateers ran off three straight to take a 3-1 lead.
Samantha Rich (FR/Providence, RI) scored the second goal for Purchase, but Maritime answered right back, bringing the score to 4-2 at the half.

head coach Devon Whalen gave a successful half-time speech as the Panthers scored three goals within the first five minutes of the second.
Rich scored two and Viscardi added another giving Purchase a 5-4 lead.
However, Leanne Lavelle and Jackie Golematis scored the next three goals for Maritime, giving them a two-goal lead.
LeiAnna Frazier (JR/Brooklyn, NY) would score the sixth goal for Purchase with just over two minutes left on the clock.
Maritime responded shortly after, scoring another two goals to end the game, 8-6.
Golematis led Maritime with three goals and one assist.
For Purchase, Rich had a team-high three goals, followed by Viscardi with two goals.

Jess Lindsay (JR/Rochester, NY) arguably played one of her best games with 11 saves.
Up next, the Panthers are on the road as they face Farmingdale State on Saturday for a noon start.
