(Mar. 30, 2013) – Powerhouse Farmingdale State earned a 16-1 final Saturday against Purchase.
In the process, FSC improved to 7-2 overall, 5-0 in the Skyline Conference with a 16-1 league victory.
The Panthers are now 0-6 overall.
The Rams were led by sophomore midfielder Christy Thoden, who notched a career-high eight assists, four ground balls, four caused turnovers and 10 draw controls.
After the first half, Farmingdale State led 12-0, behind one goal and five assists from Thoden. The Rams won 11-of-12 draw controls and led 11-4 on ground balls.
The second half saw four more goals, with three assists from Thoden, as the Rams went on for the win.
Purchase spoiled the shutout with 3:38 remaining in the game with an unassisted goal by midfielder
