(Oct. 21, 2014) – The men's soccer team topped Sarah Lawrence 5-0 Tuesday night.
The Panthers improved to 7-7-1 overall and 4-2-1 in conference play, dropping SLC, a new program to the league for this year, to 2-12 overall and 0-7 in the Skyline.
Purchase recorded three goals in the opening frame, including two from
Eli Wilson-Berkowitz (SR/Northampton, MA) – his third and fourth goals of the fall. The first was assisted by
Samvara Anello (JR/Bali, Indonesia) in the 18th minute and the second came in the 35th minute off an assist from
Anthony Nostro (FR/Wappingers Falls, NY). In between,
Renato Martins (JR/Sao Paulo, Brazil) scored his second goal of the season on a one touch and pass up the middle from
Andres Romero (SR/Port Chester, NY).
The Panthers, playing as visitors with SLC hosting the game at Purchase, added two more goals to close out the victory.
Myles Clohessy (JR/Cornwall, CT) and
Nick Ishoo (JR/Tarrytown, NY) capped the scoring. Clohessy netted the goal on a penalty kick and Ishoo's score came unassisted as he booted it in from 18 yards out.
The game was halted with 18:35 remaining with lightning in the area.
