Purchase Men’s Assistant, Kaminsky, Named Head Coach of Women’s Program

Purchase, NY (Dec. 27, 2014)Susan Kaminsky, the assistant men's tennis coach at Purchase for the past two seasons, has been named the new head coach of the women's program, Director of Athletics Chris Bisignano announced earlier this week.

"As the top assistant for the men's program, Susan has demonstrated the loyalty, character and fundamental attributes I look for in my staff," said Bisignano.  "I am thrilled to see her continued success as she takes over the leadership of our women's program.

Kaminsky most recently achieved a No. 1 ranking in the 2014 Eastern Section Addie Cup for Women's Singles.  She also has a No. 1 ranking in the East and No. 2 in the nation for Women's 40 Doubles.  Her doubles partner, Abbi Neuthaler, will serve alongside Kaminsky at Purchase as the team's assistant coach.

"I am excited for us to take on a new challenge together," said Kaminsky.  "Abbi and I found success on the court as doubles partners and now look to bring that success to the courts as coaches."

A graduate of Yale University, Kaminsky competed at No. 1 and No. 2 singles on the women's tennis team from 1982-86.  As a junior she was ranked No. 34 in the nation, followed by a team MVP title during her senior campaign.  Kaminsky graduated in 1986 with a BA in History and continued her education at New York University where she earned a Master's of Public Administration.

Off the courts, Kaminsky works as a clinic manager at the SPCA of Westchester and is a volunteer district leader for The Humane Society of the United States.  She currently resides in Westchester with her three children.
