Purchase, NY
(Dec. 9, 2015) – William Paterson posted swim victories on both the men's and women's side Wednesday night at Purchase.
The men defeated the Panthers 111-72, ending the meet in exhibition, while the Purchase women battled until the end, but came up short 106-91.
WP took both opening relays and then Casey Murphy and Nicholai Robinson won the 1,000s, respectively.
Purchase's
Lorena Peralta (SO/Bronx, NY) captured a first in the 200 freestyle, but WP would win the 200 free on the men's side and held a strong lead early.
The Panthers fought valiantly, taking the 50 free behind
Melissa Trail (SR/Pound Ridge, NY) and the 50 free behind
Sam Jaffe (JR/Silver Spring, MD).
Katherine Lopez (FR/Dix Hills, NY) would also take first in the 200 IM for the hosts in the non-conference matchup.
However, WP won the six of the next seven events, aside from a first from Trail in the 100 free. Trail was strong for Purchase in the loss, taking a third first in the 500 free.
Robinson captured another first on the men's side for the Pioneers, as the visitors wrapped up the victory. Robinson won the 500 free.
