Purchase, NY (Nov, 7, 2016) – Purchase College men's and women's swimming hosted the Maritime Privateers in a Skyline Conference showdown Monday evening.  The Panther women swam hard against the Privateers, but were outdone in the end, falling 113-89.  Maritime outnumbered Purchase on the men's side and claimed the victory with a 125-56 final.  

The Purchase women were led by co-captains Colleen Ferguson (SO/Marcellus, NY) and Lorena Peralta (JR/Bronx, NY), along with teammate Rachel Parker (SR/Glen Head, NY). The Panther trio each recorded two victories on the night.  Ferguson picked up wins in the 1000 and 500-yard free, Peralta in the 200 free and 200 IM, and Parker in the 100 fly and 100 back.

Peralta and Madi Smith (Lagrangeville, NY) touched the wall second in the 100 free (59.36) and 100 breaststroke (1:22.53), respectively.    

Sam Jaffe (SR/Silver Spring, MD) clocked a winning time of 1:06.11 in the 100-yard breaststroke to pace Purchase's men's squad.  He also tallied second-place finishes in the 200 IM and 100-yard freestyle.

In defeat, the Panther women drop to 2-2 while the men fall to 0-3.

The Panthers are home again this Friday, hosting Mount Saint Mary and St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) in a double-dual meet starting at 6 p.m.
