Purchase, NY (Nov. 14, 2017) – Visiting William Paterson – a top tier, non-conference opponent – earned two wins Tuesday night at Purchase.

The Pioneers defeated the Panthers 84-69 on the women's side and 68-43 on the men's side, finishing the meet in exhibition.

WP's strong start was guided by wins in the 200-yard medley relay. Daisey Ferraiuolo continued the strong start with a victory in the 1,000 freestyle, while James Sharkey followed suit with another nine points in the men's 1,000.

Purchase's Lorena Peralta (SR/Bronx, NY) scored Purchase's first, first-place finish. She won the 200 freestyle.

However, WP would take six straight before the Panthers rebounded. Daniel Demopoulos (SR/White Plains, NY) performed well for the hosts, as did Katherine Lopez (JR/Dix Hills, NY), Alex Lally (SR/Mesquite, TX) and Madi Smith (SR/Lagrangeville, NY).

On the men's side, Eric Lee (FR/Bayside, NY) and Robert Ashkinos (SR/Sparkill, NY) also turned in a nice showing for Purchase.

In addition, WP was led by Anthony Taboadela (1st in the 200 freestyle); Quinn Reynolds (1st in the 50 free); Drew Macchia (1st in the 50 free); and Mariah Jenkins (1st in the 200 IM).

Purchase returns to action next Monday at home, when the Panthers welcome non-conference rival Lehman College to the pool for a 6 p.m. start.
