(Nov. 20, 2017) – The Purchase College swim teams wrapped up the holiday week Monday night by hosting non-conference rival Lehman College.
Lehman posted victories on the men's and women's side, taking the meet 101-74 on the women's side and 116-46 on the men's side.
Katherine Lopez (JR/Dix Hills, NY) shined in the 1,000 freestyle after Lehman captured a first in the 200 medley relay as a unit. Lopez won the event in a speedy 13:54.21.
Lorena Peralta (SR/Bronx, NY) took second in the 200 freestyle (2:12.02), right behind Lehman's Sarina Eshtiaghi (2:02.58).
Lehman's Ryan Sanchez and Andres Rodriguez bested the field in the 200 free and the 50 free, respectively, while Christina Hitchman won the 50 free for the Lightning.

Robert Olejarz (SR/Brooklyn, NY) posted a second-place finish in the 200 free (2:28.60).
Lehman continued its strong start with a win in the 200 IM behind Angela Mejia (2:31.86).
Eric Lee (FR/Bayside, NY) helped the hosts stay in it on the men's side by winning the 200 IM. He posted a strong 2:28.11 first-place finish.
But Eshtiaghi captured a first in the 100 butterfly and Rodriguez duplicated the feat, as Lehman started to make some separation midway through the meet.
Lee came back with a second in the 100 fly and
Rachel DeSimone (SO/Red Hook, NY) also posted a second in the 100 fly (1:21.10).
Lehman finished off the meet with victories in both 100 freestyle events before exhibition scoring came into play.
Peralta was strong in the 100 backstroke, capping another solid performance for the Panther captain in the pool on this evening, despite the loss.
Bryant Mora (SR/Ozone Park, NY),
Kristen O'Reilly (SR/Bronx, NY),
Jill Trazino (SR/New York, NY) and
Sarah Siano (FR/Portland, OR) also performed well for Purchase.
