Monthly, Sports Information will report on a former Purchase College student-athlete, coach, administrator or famous alum, and where the world has taken them these days. Today's "Where Are They Now?" – former women's lacrosse offensive ace Kelly Turtell '18

PURCHASE, NY – Kelly Turtell '18 imprinted her name into Panther history as a four-year starter, but today she's making waves away from the Purchase College turf as the Community Relations Coordinator for GF Sports.

GF Sports, a sports and entertainment content company based out of New York, owns and operates several professional lacrosse, tennis, equestrian, dog agility, Ninja and ice skating properties, each with a rich tradition and longstanding role in their respective sports. Entities include New York Riptide, The New York Open, The BB&T Atlanta Open and Wolf Pack Ninjas.

Turtell, a 2018 graduate of Purchase with a Bachelor's of Arts degree in arts management, is responsible for GF Sport's Riptide Tri-State Box League for kids at the Nassau Coliseum. She also coordinates community outreach for ticketing and assists with event vendors and participants for the NY Riptide league and NY Open. Turtell can also be found at the scorer's table on game days, putting her lacrosse knowledge to work as a statistical assistant.

Turtell said she loves what she does because of her deep-rooted knowledge and passion for sports, primarily lacrosse.

"My experience at Purchase really helped me," Turtell said. "The staff in the athletic department gave me so many opportunities to learn how the sports industry works, even from a collegiate level."

"Working the Purchase College games and being in that environment was something I didn't know I'd miss, so it feels great to be back doing that in a larger scale."
