NEW YORK, NY - Purchase College junior Ben Erkan has been named to the Skyline Conference Men's Lacrosse Weekly Honor Roll, it was announced Monday.

Erkan (Bellport, NY) recorded a hat trick in an 9-8 double overtime loss to SUNY New Paltz on March 11th.

His first goal of the night came on a wonderful individual effort, as Erkan won the faceoff, picked up the ground ball and ran down the field, before unleashing a rocket to beat the keeper. His other two goals came on man-up opportunities.

The junior also picked up five ground balls and went 11-for-17 in the face-off circle in the game.

The award was the first of Erkan's career. For the season, he tallied seven points (4g, 3a), six ground balls and a .667 percentage on face-offs.

The Panthers finished the year with a 1-1 record, as they had the rest of their season canceled due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Erkan and the men's lacrosse team are set to return to the field next February for the 2021 campaign.
