PURCHASE, N.Y. - The Purchase College men's lacrosse team hosted the Iona University Club Team in a season-kickoff scrimmage on Saturday.

Since the contest didn't count towards records, neither side focused on the score or winning/losing on the day, but instead on the opportunity to tryout new techniques, see players in game action and play out scenarios that might come along later in the season.

The energy and excitement from head coach Dan Lawrence and his players was clear from the get-go and carried on throughout the day.

The Panthers will look to carry that energy throughout the next two weeks, as the squad officially opens the year on February 25th at Centenary University.

Before that, the team will host one more scrimmage, this time against Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts on February 18th at noon.
