Panthers Welcome Marina Zumbrunn

PURCHASE, N.Y. – Purchase College Athletics is pleased to announce the hiring of Marina Zumbrunn as the new head coach of the women's lacrosse program.

A former standout at Farmingdale State College, Zumbrunn returns to the Skyline Conference with deep ties to the league, a strong background in sport management and a lifelong passion for lacrosse.

Associate Director of Athletics Francesca Levine says that "We are excited to welcome Marina to our Panther family. With her playing experience and knowledge of the Skyline Conference, we believe she will have an immediate impact on our women's lacrosse program."

A defender turned attacker under Farmingdale coach Erin Calkins, Zumbrunn helped lead her team to winning the Skyline Championship in 2021 and was named to the All-Skyline First Team and received Second Team IWLCA All-Boardwalk Region recognition.

After graduating in 2023 with a B.S. in Sport Management, she headed to Keiser University in West Palm Beach, Fla., to pursue her Master's in Sport Management and Operations which she successfully completed in May 2025. While at Keiser, Zumbrunn served as a graduate assistant for sports information, working across a variety of sports with responsibilities in media relations, stat entry, and game-day coverage.

Her coaching background includes serving as an elite coach for Empire Lacrosse Club alongside Purchase alumna Kelly Turtell '18, where she developed practice plans and offensive/defensive strategies while mentoring young athletes.

"First and foremost I would like to thank Director of Athletics Chris Bisignano, Associate Director Francesca Levine and the rest of the hiring committee for this amazing opportunity," Zumbrunn said. "I'm super excited to return to the Skyline Conference; it is a very competitive environment to be in. Stepping into a coaching role allows me to continue my passion for lacrosse. I look forward to building a strong program coaching and mentoring our student-athletes to their highest potential on and off the field."

She added, "to be able to have a full-circle moment and coach against someone who has mentored me even after my playing career will be a fulfilling moment. I am forever grateful for my time at Farmingdale State and look forward to seeing them on the field."

Zumbrunn officially begins her role this August and will begin preparing the team for the upcoming 2026 season.
